About Debbie Hull, the trainer
Debbie Hull, BS, CCE, CLD, CCCE
I began learning about birth in 1996 when I became involved in the local Houston birthing community. I am a doula in private practice and have been privileged to attend over 380 births in many homes and birth centers and over 30 hospitals. My work has taken me places I never expected to go, including becoming a radio show host! I regularly guest host Whole Mother on Houston's public radio station. The show covers a variety of topics important for parents and is a terrific source for new parents, childbirth educators and doulas and for hearing positive birth stories. (Listen to some of my shows on the Lagniappe tab on my site.) I certified as a childbirth educator, designed and developed the curriculum for an innovative, interactive childbirth class and began offering classes in 2001. I am proud that many local midwives refer exclusively to my classes and that even dads report enjoying the classes! My minor in training and development and experience as an ASL interpreting mentorship program manager prepared me for mentoring doulas informally in my community. I am thrilled to have the opportunity to join CAPPA faculty and train a new generation of confident, professional childbirth educators and doulas. I am proud to be the mother of two amazing formerly breastfed and homeschooled young adults.
